Welcome to Northwestern Center for Orthopedics! I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about myself and my experience in healthcare. I am originally from Madison, Wisconsin, and I earned my medical degree at the University of Wisconsin Medical School. Following graduation, I completed my internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. For the next four years, I continued advanced training in my chosen specialty, orthopedic surgery, as a resident and chief resident at Henry Ford Hospital. In addition, I pursued subspecialty training, or a fellowship, in hip and knee reconstruction at Massachusetts General Hospital and New England Baptist Hospital. My practice is focused on the treatment of knee and hip arthritis, involving total joint replacement surgery with minimally invasive surgical procures that utilize computer-assisted techniques. It brings me great pleasure to apply state-of-the-art, proven procedures to restore mobility and help patients return to an active lifestyle. I strive to provide you the same excellent service and care that I would like a member of my family to receive. I participate actively in local and national orthopedic organizations to make scientific presentations. I have been credited with numerous publications in orthopedic journals, and I multiple patents based on my research on joint replacement at Northwestern University. When I am not practicing orthopedics, I enjoy a variety of activities including boating, skiing, and spending time with my family. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to further improve your experience at Northwestern Center for Orthopedics. Our goal is to provide you the best medical care available. I am looking forward to meeting with you. Sincerely, Richard L. Wixson, M.D
From Dr. WixsonI do realize that the extra time we require before your office visit might be a little inconvenient; however, it ensures that we have your correct information to help us better manage your care. Additionally, I apologize in advance in case you have to wait to see me. In some cases, patients require special attention or I may have calls to the hospital to manage surgical patients' care. Under such circumstances, the staff of Northwestern Center for Orthopedics and I will do our best to see you as soon as possible and make sure you receive individualized attention. My surgical practice is based exclusively at Northwestern memorial Hospital as part off the Joint Reconstruction and Implant Service. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
